This year
the Men of B4UC will be implementing a program where each boy will have a
mentor assigned to him to guide him throughout the year. Our plan is to
implement this program by mid-summer 2015.
All outings
will involve discussions centered on character building, ethical and moral
behaviors from a Christian perspective.
The B4uc
schedule of events for 2015 is as follows:
April 4, 2015 – We w_ill be
attending a dinner and show at Medieval Times in Buena Park, CA. It will be a great opportunity for the men
and boys to interact while having a fun time.
May 23, 2015 – B4UC will sponsor a CPR
certification class for the men and boys
June 27, 2015 – We will be attending the Street
Food Cinema at Verdugo Park, Glendale, CA. The movie showing will be “Raiders
of the Lost Ark”.
July 11, 2015 – We will host a ‘Rap Session’ &
bonfire at Playa Del Rey Beach (a great opportunity for bonding with the boys
while sharing manly wisdom from a Christian perspective)
August 7-9, 2015 –a week-end retreat with the boys at
Paradise Springs at Big Rock Creek. (http://paradisespringsbrc.com/). The retreat is
located less than a 30 minute drive from Palmdale, and just over a 90 minute
drive from downtown Los Angeles.
September, 2015 – We will be sponsoring a fundraiser
to bolster our treasury fund as we will be hosting a “Rites of Passage and
Awards Ceremony for our graduating Squires in 2016. The specific fundraiser
will be announced at a later date.
October 24, 2015 – We are going horseback riding at
Griffith Park.
November 14, 2015 – We will be participating in
volunteer activities (The specific volunteer opportunity to be announced, Ron
Jones is researching opportunities).
December 5, 2015 – Teambuilding workshop (Project to
be announced – Men’s council will research and select an appropriate project.
